The Bible in Depth (BinD) Class is perfect for people who are curious about the Bible and eager to read it carefully and discuss it freely.

BinD explores the origins, authorship, historical background, meanings, and messages of the Bible in lively discussions appropriate for anyone who is seeking to understand the foundation on which our faith is built.

Typically, the class takes up one book of the Bible at a time and covers about a chapter a week.

Location: Classroom Bldg. C204

Sunday School for Everyone routinely studies theology, books of the Bible, and thought leaders at the forefront of understanding faith in the modern world.  While most students enjoy reading the diverse literature in the curriculum, one can benefit from attending the class without the benefit of prior study.

Newcomers are welcomed!

Location: Classroom Bldg. C200

This multi-age class is perfect for people who want to study the Bible in an informal discussion setting. The class meets at the Kirk but also offers a Zoom option.

To prepare for class, some participants read the Bible passage and accompanying guide, but others just show up.

The class is taught by 6 rotating class members.

Location: Classroom Bldg. C203

This class is perfect for people who enjoy challenging their faith, taking absolutely nothing for granted. A variety of opinions are welcomed – from any and all perspectives!

  • Topical studies in theology, spirituality, and social justice
  • Discussion-oriented; divergent viewpoints encouraged
  • Preparation not required but beneficial
  • The Seekers are a lively, free-form, wide-ranging, discussion class whose studies include topics in theology, spirituality, and social justice. There is no set curriculum or teacher. Leadership of the discussion is shared among the class members and is voluntary.

Advance preparation (reading of the materials) is not required, but is highly beneficial to the discussion. The group encourages divergent viewpoints and opinions and frequently questions the dominant paradigm.

The class engages in occasional fellowship activities such as potlucks or attending a concert/ballet.

Class outreach activities include refugee resettlement support and cooking for The Carying Place.

Location: Classroom Bldg. C211

This is a class where you can truly come as you are. You never have to prepare. You never have to do “homework.” You only have to show up and be present.

Together we study recent developments at the intersection of science and Christian theology.
