The Lord is My Shepherd..... David was the author of this psalm and a shepherd himself. For thousands of years, this scripture passage has provided comfort, peace and guidance to people who are sad, lonely or having a difficult time. We are going to memorize the 23rd Psalm so we too can look to scripture when we need it.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil; for you are with me;
your rod and your staff they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
God takes care of us like shepherd takes care of sheep.
God is with us even when we are scared.
God’s love and kindness are always with us.
God guides us to make good choices

Reflection: How is God like a shepherd? How are we like God’s sheep? This Psalm promises that God is always with us. What about when I get into trouble? If God gives me what I need, do I really need the things I want?
Prayer: Dear God, Thank you for this wonderful song that David wrote. It brings comfort to us when we are sad or need help. Thank you for being my shepherd and taking care of me and giving me everything I need. Amen
Offering : Your offering will go to help Navajo Indian families through Trinity Presbyterian Church in Chinle, Arizona. Kirk members Joanna and Kirt Hobler visited the church and it has many needs especially for Sunday School materials and supplies for their shelter for women and their babies.
