David the King

“The Lord said, “People judge others by what they look like, but I judge people by what is in their hearts.” -- 1 Samuel 16: 7 (CEV)

Samuel could not tell by looking at Jesse’s sons which one God would choose to be king. God sees and understands things we do not. God sees our hearts and not our outward appearance.

Grades 3-5: An old man is standing on the street corner. He has on old clothes and looks like a foreigner. What might some people assume about this man? What might God think about this man?

Grades 1-2: Draw a picture of yourself. Give yourself a big heart. Draw something good in your heart that God sees and knows about you.

The Lord Chooses David
