The
Bible tells us that God created all things. Created means "made". God created
the land and the water and the sky. God created the plants and trees. God created
the animals and the fish and the birds and the bees. What's more ... God created
you and me! Both boys and girls, we are made in God's image. Being made in God's
image means that of all God's creation, only people like us can think and feel
and believe. Only people (like us) can also create. And the best part of it
all is this: When God looked at what he had made, God said, "It is very good!"
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever." (CEV)
In Holywood watch the creation stories.
Play various creation and environmental games in Antioch Arcade.
Make a clay plaque of the beginning of our world in Creation Station.
Using music and movement act out the seven days of creation in Apostle's Playhouse.
Read: Genesis 1:1 - 2:25
Reflection: If we scratch our bike the scratch will be there in a few days, but if we scratch our hand the scratch will be healed in a few days. What's the difference? A human person made the bike. God created the hand. The things that God created are much more wonderful than anything a human being can make.
Prayer: Dear God, What a wonderful world you created for us. All that you have created shows your great power and love. We're glad that You created us. Give us your Holy Spirit so that we may all be and remain Your children. Amen.
Offering: Our offering will go to Dan and Elizabeth Turk, our missionaries in Madagascar. The Turks are sharing the good news of Jesus with the people of Madagascar. Please bring your offering to the jar in the Great Hall.
