Presbyterian WomenPresbyterian Women (PW) is a churchwide organization whose membership is open to all women. The members are women who choose to participate in or be supportive of the organization in any way. PW gives strong support to the mission of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and determines its own leadership, program, and budget. Presbyterian Women is organized at all levels of the PC(USA) in congregations, presbyteries, and synods as well as General Assembly. The connectional system allows ideas and information to continually flow back and forth to strengthen the work of Presbyterian Women and the Ministry of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). At the Kirk,
PW offers women's circles, service opportunities, and several fellowship events
each year. If you're interested in joining the group, contact the
Co-Moderator or the Kirk office. Presbyterian Women's CirclesA Circle is a group of women who meet for fellowship, Bible study and service. What Happens During a Typical Circle Meeting? Members meet and greet each other, catch up with each other's lives, and enjoy yummy snacks. The group takes care of business -- this might include hearing news from the Presbyterian Women's Council or planning a service project such as serving a dinner at the Ark. Someone leads a Bible study lesson. Members share good news, sad news, and prayers. The various outreach programs include Meals on Wheels, Dorcas Shop, and the Ark. Circles meet once a month, September through May, and last about two hours. Most circles provide child care at the Kirk during meetings. Members who bring children are asked to donate an extra $1 per child per meeting. A variety of circles are offered, some during the day, some at night. One also offers more intensive Bible study.
