Kirk Fellowship Programs

The Fellowship Committee organizes events to promote interaction among the congregation and to provide support to other committees when they hold meetings that involve food preparation.

Fellowship Events

Fellowship events include the Advent Fair, the Kirk Fall Family Retreat at Montreat, the Women's Retreat, the Winter Fest, Fellowship Dinners (both catered and covered-dish), Sunday Breakfasts, and an Ice Cream Social. These events are planned and hosted by the Fellowship Committee.

Fall Family Retreat

The Kirk of Kildaire's Fall Family Retreat is an annual weekend retreat (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon) traditionally held at Montreat during the month of October.

The purpose of the retreat is to foster fellowship among families of the Kirk and to provide for the spiritual nurture of families by offering opportunities for growth in faith, family relationships, and family spiritual practices. The retreat also provides an opportunity for corporate worship.

Wednesday Night Potluck Dinners

These events are monthly dinners where people come together to share a meal. Types of dishes are assigned by last name (in an attempt to assure a decent distribution of food types). All are welcome to come to these dinners.

Jesus' Birthday Party

This annual event is a celebration of the birth of Jesus offered primarily for the Kirk children. The birth story is told and acted out, songs are sung, and light refreshments are provided.

Kirk Stewardship Dinner

This event is a dinner (sometimes catered, sometimes potluck) meeting for the purpose of discussing and explaining Kirk goals and hopes for the stewardship campaign. The Fellowship Committee provided support work setting up the meeting room, serving the food and cleaning up after the event.
