Dear Family and Friends of the Kirk,

I want to say a word of thanks to the many leaders and members of the Kirk who gathered last Saturday for the goal selection process of Long Range Planning. The commitment and love of people at the Kirk are an inspiration to me. I’m especially grateful for members of the Long Range Planning taskforce for leading us. We are blessed.

Wednesday Night Live is off to a great start. The first night was full of good conversation and great food. There was a good spirit in the Fellowship Hall. I’m looking forward to many more Wednesdays sharing a meal with members of the Kirk. I hope you will make your reservations to come when you are able. Remember, you can come and eat even if you are not staying for a program. The serving line is open from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. At 6:15 p.m., we share a blessing, some joys and concerns, have a prayer and often a game just for the fun of it. We are done by 6:30 p.m.

This Sunday we will have a congregational meeting to elect elders to serve on the Session. Those elected will be leading you for the next three years. Please read the information about them in the Krier before the meeting after the 11:00 a.m. service. Pray for them as they prepare to serve. My sermon this Sunday will address the question, “What makes you qualified?” Think about Paul’s qualifications and you will have a hint where I’m headed in the sermon.

This Sunday we also will dedicate those who lead us through the ministry of music. Thank you to Mary Kay, all the directors/leaders of musical groups and those who participate in them. Imagine worship without music. You can’t! We owe deep gratitude for the commitment of time, energy and love to this ministry that helps us worship our Lord.

These are exciting days at the Kirk. Let us give thanks to God for calling us together here.

Grace and Peace,

Jody
