Mary Kay's Cary Days
September 13, 2007
Dear members and friends,
Wow, have we been busy! It has been a great start-up of all the
Kirk music ensembles this past two weeks. New and returning participants
are excitedly, and with great commitment, preparing to offer their
personal best in worship. We have new members in Chancel Choir,
Genesis Ringers, Coventry Ringers and the childrens choirs.
This truly is one of my favorite times of year.
Thanks to Amanda Decker for her expressive solo On Eagles
Wings at the early service this past Sunday. If you missed
it, you will have the opportunity to hear her sing again on September
30 at 11:00 a.m. worship. I encourage any interested soloists to
contact me, as I am always looking for more singers and instrumentalists.
The sanctuary piano has been safely delivered and was used for
the first time in rehearsal last night. I hope you all will come
to the pre-service music beginning 20 minutes prior to each service
this Sunday. We are grateful to Doug Nagy, Maritjie Wessels, Sue
Buning, Flo Westin and Dewey Cassell for the hard work and time-consuming
research on the piano project.
On Sunday morning you will find the new supplemental hymnals in
the pews! These song books were purchased by designated gifts from
many Kirk individuals, families and friends. We have already been
singing some songs from this book and we hope that you all will
enjoy the variety it offers in our worship. A special thanks to
Doug Nagy for designing and attaching the name plates inside each
cover and to the Worship Committee for placing them in the sanctuary
pew racks.
And lastly, at both services this Sunday, we will be giving special
recognition to our many music participants as they begin their year
of work for the church. Amy Athavale will sing The Lords
Prayer and there will be special anthems, too.
We are surrounded by so many wonderful people here. You do truly
walk the talk of Christs church!
Peace and Grace,
Mary Kay
