Christian Education – Children

The Christian Education Children's Committee coordinates the educational activities and care of infants through fifth grade.  Our mission is to teach our children to: know God, love God, and serve God.

We strive to:

  • Provide programs that are fun and exciting for the children and the adult volunteers.
  • Teach the children the Bible stories and how they relate to their everyday lives.
  • Develop a strong faith in our children, who will continue to grow in their faith as youth and adults.
  • Offer engaging programs so that adults are enthusiastic and want to volunteer.
  • Energize teachers to talk about their faith and relate their faith experiences to the children.
  • Offer programs that focus on the gifts and talents of congregational members.
  • Develop programs that allow adults to create special bonds with the children.

The Committee develops curriculum, recruits teachers and assistants, is liaison to the Kirk Children's Center, and explores new class development initiatives among its many tasks.  In educating our 300+ children, we have a great need for adult volunteers to give of their spiritual gifts, whether teaching, assisting, leading workshops, copying curriculum, maintaining supplies and storage closets, designing bulletin boards, making banners, advising children, rocking babies, etc.
